SINGLE PERIOD DAY

Honors English 7

  • WOTD: "We are diving into "old school" words today for parties.  The words are: behoove, dillydally, incumbent, and slipshod
  • Remember that you should be keeping a notebook with all of your words.  They will keep piling on and we will keep reviewing them throughout the ENTIRE year.  Just think how smart you will be! Woohoo.
  • Bring in an "outside reading" or free reading book.  You must have one with you EVERY day.  I want you to be a life-long reader so my goal is to make you crave that quiet time in the day when you want to dive into another world, another place in your book.
  • Have a notebook dedicated to this class.  You will be graded on your organization.  What???  I care about you and want to get you ready for high school.  Feel the love.  : )
  • Get to know your classmates.  Take a number or two from your colleagues in class so that you have a network of support when you are not sure.
Leadership: Let's start to add value!  Shall we?
  • Current leadership opportunities for this class: Let me know if you would like to be a leader for one of these teams.
  • 1. Morning Announcements - two teams - MWF & TTH
  • Create a questionnaire for our staff so that we can get to know them.
  • Welcome week 2 activities set up by a Welcome Week Committee - Set-up training for the music, Table prep, & handing out treats to people with name tags on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday.
  • Mascot Committee - Design a flyer.  Create a ppt with the different Mascots surrounding our school, text in voting system requested from Tanner.
